The first Industrial Revolution 1765
The first industrial revolution followed the proto-industrialization period. It started at the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th. The biggest changes came in the industries in the form of mechanization. Mechanization was the reason why agriculture started to be replaced by the industry as the backbone of the societal economy.
At the time people witnessed massive extraction of coal along with the very important invention of the steam engine that was the reason for the creation of a new type of energy that later on helped speed up the manufacturing of railroads thus accelerating the economy.
The second Industrial Revolution 1870
Following the first Industrial Revolution, almost a century later we see the world go through the second. It started at the end of the 19th century, with massive technological advancements in the field of industries that helped the emergence of a new source of energy. Electricity, gas, and oil.
The result of this revolution was the creation of the internal combustion engine that started to reach its full potential. Other important points of the second industrial revolution was the development for steel demand, chemical synthesis and methods of communication such as the telegraph and the telephone.
Finally, the inventions of the automobile, and the plane in the beginning of the 20th century are the reason why, to this day, the Second Industrial Revolution is considered the most important one!
The Third Industrial Revolution 1969
Another century passes and we bear witness to the Third Industrial Revolution. In the second half of the 20th century, we see the emergence of yet another source of untapped, at the time, energy. Nuclear energy!
The third revolution brought forth the rise of electronics, telecommunications and of course computers. Through the new technologies, the third industrial revolution oped the doors to space expeditions, research, and biotechnology.
In the world of the industries, two major inventions, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Robots helped give rise to an era of high-level automation.
Industry 4.0
For many people, Industry 4.0 is the fourth Industrial Revolution, although there is a large portion of people that still disagree. If we were to view Industry 4.0 as a revolution then we would have to admit that it is a revolution happening right now. We are experiencing it everyday and its magnitude is yet unknown.
Industry 4.0 started in the dawn of the third millennium with the one thing that everyone uses every single day. The Internet. We can see the transition from the first industrial revolution that rooted for technological phenomenon all the way to Industry 4.0 that develops virtual reality worlds, allowing us to bend the laws of physics.

Lithium mining - Green Sustainable & inclusive? right?
Lithium is the key ingredient for the batteries fueling the world’s electric car and smartphone revolution. Market analysts speculate that by the mid-2020s, lithium supply will be straining to keep up with demand from auto and mobile device manufacturers. It’s being called the “gold of the 21st century.”
The world lithium market is expected to grow by 500% in the next 35 years, but, according to US consultancy DCDB Group, the lack of financing for new projects and expansions of existing operations will lead to lower supply between 2023 and 2025.
Over the next three years the global lithium industry will be keen to see new projects go into production and the country with the best possibilities of achieving that is Argentina.
Being the world’s third largest lithium producer, the Argentine government has included 15 lithium brine projects in its plan to boost mining exports over the next decade.

It began back in the fall of 1991, when Ukraine declared its independence, and Soros had what he calls a “seminal meeting” with Dr. Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, an internationally known Ukrainian economist, who, after living abroad for many years, had decided to return to Ukraine in 1988, to help steer its course, and in 1990 had become chairman of the new Soros foundation there. The foundation started out with the usual Soros mandate, to foster civil society mainly through the support of cultural and educational activities. But, with Ukraine’s declaration of independence, Soros recalls, he and Hawrylyshyn decided on a far more ambitious role for the foundation: it would build the institutions that would enable Ukraine to function as an independent and democratic state. Because of its years as part of the U.S.S.R., Ukraine had none of those institutions in place. “It was a vacuum,” Soros told me, and so “there was a great willingness to accept this kind of support, which would in normal times be rather intrusive.” He added, laughing, “I mean, I can’t try to do that in America. They would tell me where to get off!”

Lithium is found dissolved in saltwater sources around the world, meaning the typical way to extract it is like how sea salt companies extract their product: huge ponds that evaporate over time, leaving solid matter behind. It works just okay, and it’s very slow.
To complicate things, the Salton Sea itself is already rapidly evaporating: “The total evaporation from the Salton Sea is approximately 1,300,000 acre feet of water per year. The total volume of water in the Salton Sea is approximately 7.5 million acre feet,” the Salton Sea Authority explains.
New salt continues to flow in every year, and the amount only increases. The salt content is so high that virtually all life has been extinguished in the lake (which the “sea” technically is), making the site indirectly ideal for lithium extraction or any other invasive technical project.
The real chemical draw for Lilac, and the legions of failed startups that preceded it, is a series of mud pot volcanoes that are one of the richest potential sources of geothermal energy in the world.
It’s here, deep underground, where lithium is dissolved in the superheated mix. Because of the tantalizing combo of energy source and lithium source, Lilac has partnered with an Australia-based company called Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR). Australia has invested heavily in its geothermal energy. This isn’t CTR’s first try at the Imperial Valley, where at least one deal with a previous extraction partner has fallen through in recent years.
This time, CTR is back with new partner Lilac, and the technology is allegedly more developed and reliable. CTR says that instead of traditional evaporation ponds, its extraction is modular and fast—bewitching keywords for any venture capital energy project. It seems to be a continuous-flow pot filled of “ion exchange beads,” where hydrochloric acid knocks lithium chloride free from the naturally occurring lithium carbonate found in brine.
The partner companies envision a geothermal energy plant where lithium is extracted as part of the normal energy production of the plant. Instead of adding lithium extraction as an afterthought, they’ll build with it in mind from the beginning, they say. And with plans to deliver over 17,000 tons of extracted lithium in first operating year 2023, they’re powerful players.

Despite the name, lithium-ion batteries actually require more graphite than lithium as graphite materials remain the dominant active anode material used in lithium-ion batteries.
Roskill sees the graphite industry becoming increasingly focused on the battery market, with growth opportunity for both synthetic and natural and said recently that reduced demand has yet to translate into a major negative price impact on graphite:
“With global recovery expected in the coming months, especially for battery and electrode grades, and Chinese infrastructure stimulus, it seems likely that prices will not suffer in the long term.”
Furthermore, Roskill is expecting total graphite demand over the next 10 years to grow around 5% to 6% per year although they believe environmental costs will continue to play an important role in future supply chain trends and price development, including inspections/closures in China, a call for sustainable battery products and the effects of changing marine fuels on raw material availability for synthetic graphite.
Meanwhile, although some challenges still remain, several research groups are developing rechargeable magnesium batteries which could have the potential to outperform their Li-ion counterparts.

Electric cars: China powers the battery supply chain
In the space of a few years Chinese companies have become some of the world’s largest producers of lithium, a lightweight metal that is a key raw material for batteries. They have bought up mines from Australia to South America and are building plants in China to make lithium chemicals and batteries.
The latest example of China’s ability to channel prodigious amounts of capital to fast growing industries, the country produced over 60 per cent of the world’s lithium in April, compared with less than 1 per cent from the US, according to Benchmark Mineral Intelligence.
China’s dominance in the electric car supply chain has triggered growing concerns in a trade-war obsessed Washington and Brussels, with both fearing that they could be squeezed out of the next generation of industry.

Geo-Political ambitions turn Homeland into 'security state'
Zionism, the national movement for the return of the Jewish people to their homeland and the resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel, advocated, from its inception, tangible as well as spiritual aims. Cybersecurity is another area in which Talpiot graduates have made their mark. In August of 2011, Eviatar Matania, known as “the right hand of Talpiot,” was appointed the head of the newly created Israel National Cyber Bureau (INCB), reporting directly to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

There are all sorts of ways to “serve,” aren’t there? Both when you’re in the army and after you leave. If he were still serving in the IDF I know what those goals would involve for Israel’s enemies, but do they mean anything different now? It would nice to think it would.
But we know the powerful network of Israeli cyber-warriors that roam the world using the tools they learned in the army in order to create new civilian and military markets. We know the Israeli cyber-technology used by U.S. telecoms which can serve as a backdoor for NSA intelligence operations. We know how intrusive these are here in the U.S. where we ostensibly have constitutional protections.
In Israel, even Bibi Netanyahu has acknowledged that there are no such protections for citizens and no right to privacy, selling this as a plus for Israel’s cyber-security industry. We know that IDF special forces officers lead U.S. firms like Payoneer, which provided critical financial/logistical help to the al-Mabouh Mossad assassins and perhaps even assisted two of them who returned from the hit via the U.S.

Microsoft today announced plans to establish the company’s first cloud region in Israel to deliver its intelligent, trusted cloud services through a local datacenter region.
This investment expands the Microsoft global cloud infrastructure to 56 cloud regions in 21 countries, with the new Israel region anticipated to be available starting with Microsoft Azure in 2021, with Office 365 to follow.
The new Israel region will adhere to Microsoft’s trusted cloud principles and become part of one of the largest cloud infrastructures in the world, already serving more than a billion customers and 20 million businesses. |

This seems particularly based on Israeli policy. On November 7th, 2020, 73 Palestinian people, including 41 children, were displaced when Israeli authorities demolished their homes and other structures and destroyed belongings.

Former UK Labour leadership hopeful Rebecca Long-Bailey was sacked from the shadow cabinet amid accusations of anti-Semitism after she shared an interview with actress Maxine Peake.
British actress Peake, a long-time advocate of Palestinian rights, spoke on the issue of the Black Lives Matter movement and mentioned the fact that Israeli forces regularly teach and train US police in violent tactics during an interview with UK newspaper the Independent.
Peake was criticised when she claimed that Israeli forces taught the US police the technique of crushing the neck with the knee; the brutal tactic used by Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin against George Floyd. Floyd died moments later.
In the interview, the actress said: "Systemic racism is a global issue. The tactics used by the police in America, kneeling on George Floyd's neck, that was learnt from seminars with Israeli secret services."
This technique is well known to the Palestinians as being used by Israeli forces, however, a spokesperson for the Israeli police denied the claim.

Long-Bailey shared the wide-ranging interview with Peake, in which she spoke about her latest onscreen project Fanny Lye Deliver'd, her socialist beliefs and the 2019 UK general election result, with the caption "Maxine Peake is an absolute diamond".
This led to a Twitter frenzy accusing Peake of being anti-Semitic and Long-Bailey of supporting the alleged "anti-Semitism".
Labour leader Keir Starmer's office reportedly approved a statement from Long-Bailey on the issue then sacked her for sharing the article.
A report by Amnesty in 2016 revealed that US police forces across the country had been flown to Israel in order to learn about Israeli police tactics.

Conceptualisation of Cyberdefense as Mabam
The 2002, 2006, 2008-09, 2012, and 2014 rounds of large-scale violence demonstrate IDF’s missions in the twenty-first century. The IDF developed the “campaign between wars” concept (Mabam – Maaracha bein Milhamot) to describe the military operations short-of-war, which IDF initiates and performs to thwart emerging enemy threats.
This became an official doctrinal term later and was included in the summer 2015 IDF Strategy document.
These covert and overt operations range from remote or on-the-ground intelligence collection, to surgical Special Forces raids, to precision strikes and to brigade-level combined arms maneuvers.
The use of force is not intended to attain political goals, but rather to debilitate the capabilities of the enemy to harm Israel. For example, the range of strikes against Iranian forces in Syria and elsewhere often targeted weaponry shipments, key persons, or installations.
The Mabam concept appears to serve cybersecurity well. Mature cyber defense no longer singularly aims to prevent a breach. Nowadays, two models—the cyber kill chain and defense-in-depth—guide effective cyber operations. Mabam is an almost-routine emergency, which does not lend itself to a single-blow battlefield victory. Mature cyber defense similarly perceives the reality as an ongoing, long-term, adversarial competition. Advanced cybersecurity experts never promise complete defense, let alone a decisive victory. The goal is to minimize the threat through defense in-depth, intelligence and pre-emptive actions. The Mabam concept also accepts the less-heroic operational routine rather than decisive victory that destroys the adversary.

The House of Wettin
The House of Wettin (German: Haus Wettin) is a dynasty of German counts, dukes, prince-electors and kings that once ruled territories in the present-day German states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The dynasty is one of the oldest in Europe, and its origins can be traced back to the town of Wettin, Saxony-Anhalt. The Wettins gradually rose to power within the Holy Roman Empire.

Le Cercle is a secretive, privately-funded, transnational discussion group which regularly meets in different parts of the world. Schwab spent the 1966-1967 academic year at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. A man has used thought alone to control nanorobots inside a living creature for the first time. The technology released a drug inside cockroaches in response to the man’s brain activity – a technique that may be useful for treating brain disorders such as schizophrenia and ADHD.
Getting drugs to where they need to be exactly when you want them is a challenge. Most drugs diffuse through the blood stream over time – and you’re stuck with the side effects until the drug wears off.
Now, a team at the Interdisciplinary Center, in Herzliya, and Bar Ilan University, in Ramat Gan, both in Israel, have developed a system that allows precise control over when a drug is active in the body.
The group has built nanorobots out of DNA, forming shell-like shapes that drugs can be tethered to. The bots also have a gate, which has a lock made from iron oxide nanoparticles. The lock opens when heated using electromagnetic energy, exposing the drug to the environment. Because the drug remains tethered to the DNA parcel, a body’s exposure to the drug can be controlled by closing and opening the gate.
Mind medicine
To get the DNA bots to respond to a person’s thoughts, the team trained a computer algorithm to distinguish between a person’s brain activity when resting and when doing mental arithmetic.

The team then attached a fluorescent drug to the bots and injected them into a cockroach sat inside an electromagnetic coil. A person wearing an EEG cap that measures brain activity was then instructed either to do mental calculations, or rest. The cap was connected to the electromagnetic coil, switching it on when the man was calculating and off when he was resting.
By examining when fluorescence appeared inside different cockroaches, the team confirmed that this worked.
The algorithm could be trained to track other types of brain activity, says Sachar Arnon, a member of the team at the Interdisciplinary Center. “It could track brain states that underlie ADHD or schizophrenia, for example. It could be modified to suit your needs.”
The idea would be to automatically trigger the release of a drug when it is needed. For example, some people don’t always know when they need medication – before a violent episode of schizophrenia, for instance. If an EEG could detect it was coming, it could stimulate the release of a preventative drug.

Triggered release
Because the bots can open and close when required, the technology should minimise unwanted side effects. Tweaking the DNA bots could also ensure they only target specific cells in the body, minimising harmful interactions elsewhere in the body. This could be done by attaching molecules to the surface of the bots that bind to specific receptors on the outside of certain types of cell.
But the technology isn’t ready to be used in humans yet. To work, the setup needs a smaller, more portable method of measuring brain activity – something Arnon says isn’t far away. The team envisions a person wearing a small, hearing aid-like EEG device to monitor brain activity and detect when drugs are needed – for example, when a person with ADHD’s concentration begins to lapse. A smart watch would then create the electromagnetic field required to release a dose of Ritalin.
Such a combination of devices could be used to treat depression and other brain conditions that are difficult to treat. It could also allow people to actively trigger when they want a drug to be released by summoning specific thoughts.
“People could take this in all different directions,” says Arnon. “Imagine if you could deliver the exact amount of alcohol that you wanted to keep you in a happy state but not drunk. Kind of stupid, but this could happen. I think we’ve just scratched the surface.”

But the voices against vaccines are louder today than ever before, due to the power of social media and the rise of populist politics, Larson says in this week's World Vs Virus podcast.
"A lot of the questioning around vaccines does reflect a kind of anti-establishment anti-elite [sentiment...] aligned with some of the issues around populism and polarization, which is anti-elite and pro-'public knows best'," Larson says.
"Whereas the science behind vaccines, as well as the regulations and the recommendations, are at many levels very top-down and also seem farther and farther away from the individual in our society."
