Written before the September 11 attacks, and during political debates of the War in Iraq, a section of Rebuilding America's Defenses entitled "Creating Tomorrow's Dominant Force" became the subject of considerable controversy: "Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor." The report also posited:
"...advanced forms of biological warfare that can "target" specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool." Rebuilding Americas defenses - The Project for the New American Century Trump Says US Coronavirus Outbreak Worse Than Pearl Harbor, 9/11: 'Could've Stopped In China' President Donald Trump again described the ongoing COVID-19 onslaught on the United States as worse than Pearl Harbor and the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. He added to this hyperbole by declaring the pandemic that's infected 1.26 million Americans and led to the deaths of 74,000 others is “the worst attack we've ever had.” “We went through the worst attack we've ever had in our country,” said Trump at the Oval Office Wednesday. "This (COVID-19) is really the worst attack we've ever had. This is worse than Pearl Harbor. This is worse than the World Trade Center. There's never been an attack like this." IBT |

Bill Gates: Until coronavirus vaccine, world won't be 'truly normal' Life in the U.S. will not return to "normal" until a coronavirus vaccine is "gotten out to basically the entire world," billionaire Bill Gates told "Fox News Sunday." "We will eventually get a vaccine. Even before then, if we do the right things, we'll be able to open up significant parts of the economy," Gates said. The U.S. will have to pay "a huge economic price" to get the coronavirus pandemic under control and is not testing the right people "to understand what is going on." "I do think if we get testing fixed, get all 50 states involved we'll be below [death projections]," Gates said. "Of course, we'll pay a huge economic price in order to achieve that." Fox News |
HOW SLOVAKIA TESTED ITS WHOLE POPULATION FOR COVID-19

[Via Cory Morningstar]
Here [...] The Behavioral Insights Team. Spun from the "heart of the UK Government ", The Behavioral Insights Team expanded to a global consulting firm "with offices around the world... Our work spanned 31 countries in the last year alone... Our growing portfolio of BI Ventures makes behavioural science-backed tools..."
The strategic and coordinated campaigns for global vaccine roll-outs and uptake, must be understood as advertising and marketing. The more subtle, the more effective. Billions of dollars have been invested for huge returns on investment - in many current and emerging markets. In addition, it serves as a catalyst for the acceptance/adoption of fourth industrial revolution technologies. What we see today - has been years in the making.
Working with the Behavioral Insights Team, on the ground, the government of Slovakia carried out "a very effective carrot & stick strategy" on the entire population in two days. It is safe to assume lessons learned from pilots, such as this one, will be now be applied to mass vaccination programs leading the way to digital ID and all that this encompasses. (biometrics, data harvesting, control/compliance, etc.)
Oct 31, 2020 - Nov 1, 2020, "Operation Common Responsibility":
p. 1: of interest: ",even though Slovakia has 3 times as many beds per capita then the UK & sufficient supplies"
p 2: Participation: citizens who did not wish to participate would not benefit from the early release from lockdown.
"The rationale was to 'get positives out of the circulation' to make sure that the rest of the country can get back to a more normal life, whilst keeping social distancing & other rules. The key narrative was that of 'fighting back' and 'active public resistance' to the virus."
Under the leadership of the army - this was the largest such operation in the country’s history. 13 million lateral flow tests ordered and expedited from South Korea costing €50M. (USD 60,462,500.00) The operation was ready in 10 days.
"Given not all positives will be caught, the government recommends to all negatives to continue to exercise caution until the second wave of testing (meaning wearing face masks indoor & outdoors and complying with the rule of 6)."
Logistics: 40,000 people - half volunteers.
"Getting enough HCPs (Health Care Professionals) was the biggest challenge." It took money:
A HCP in an area with 2% prevalence was promised an approx. €900. The average monthly salary of a doctor is €2,400 & of a nurse €850. This "incentive" helped recruit 100% of HCPs.
The government "instituted a strict curfew a week before the testing... It was also forbidden to travel outside one's district... The testing was said to be 'voluntary' but with the following consequences:..."
"This [] meant that most people had to get tested in order to be able to work (36% of the pop. work in manufacturing), otherwise they would have to take annual leave or unpaid leave, if unable to work from home. Positive cases, on the other hand, can request sick pay." [Coercion]
"... Government issued paper certificates, printed by the state-owned mint... It issued new regulations, enabling shops and employers to request and check that people are carrying their certificates, which can be also required in spot checks by police " [p. 9]
Sticks: "...police announced additional fines (the normal rate for breaking self isolation is €1,000 on the spot or €1,700 later. Note that the average monthly wage is €1,000), & potential prosecution for the crime of endangering public health..." [p. 9]
"There is no deadline stated for when the certificate becomes invalid, as this is conditional on the future government strategy..."
"It is yet to be seen in practice the extent to which certificates will be requested in different venues...
The fine for breaking the curfew - i.e. being outside without a valid negative certificate - is €1,000 on the spot, or €1,700 later." [p 10]
"certificates of negative test results were required by employers and retail venues. However, a strong motivation was for these regions with outbreaks to improve their reputation, as well as for individuals to know whether they were positive & could be endangering their family"
Enforcement: "The key enforcement agents have been employers, who communicated that they will require the certificate in order for people to go back to work on Monday." [p 10] (Coercion)
[Gov'ts are partnering with academia, and NGOs, etc. for utilization of behavioral science throughout the world. See map.]
"Personal information of positive cases - and their households - is collated & shared with the regional Test & Trace programme, as well as the police. The two will coordinate to monitor compliance w/ self-isolation of each case." [p 11]
"No additional support for positives has been announced so far, other than the standard sick pay & the offer of accommodation for self-isolation."
Negatives "to follow current NPIs (eg. facemasks indoors and outdoors, the rule of 6, working from home if possible, ban of assembly."
"... Slovakia effectively has a new tiered system, with travel
forbidden across tiers."
"Bi-weekly key worker testing: All hospital and care home staff will be tested every two weeks,.."
"Issues encountered and lessons learned... Expect crowds early on: Most people got tested on Day 1, with many coming in the morning, queuing even 1-2 hours before the start, to beat the crowds." [Create/expect crowds - to mitigate spread of virus.]
"How BI could improve mass testing"
[and mass vaccination]
"Empowering messaging: Motivate people by creating a spirit of national resistance to the virus, highlighting the ability to make a positive action & contribute to the national effort to save lives and livelihoods."
"Use powerful & trusted messengers: Enlist the royal family, the cabinet, the parliament, and local gov't as supporters of the project... encourage them to get tested through trusted institutions & leaders (e.g. a personalised letter sent from NHS, local GP,..."
"When leaving the testing site, positive cases could receive a 'care package' w/ info. on support offered by local council (eg. linking people up w/ local volunteers, giving them priority delivery slots for supermarkets, or providing temporary housing..." [p 13]
"Non-financial incentives for volunteers: Offer additional benefits to motivate volunteers to help with organisation, such as free parking, free public transport pass, free museum and gallery entry, etc." [p 13]
"Wristbands to improve monitoring: Along with certificates, distribute paper wristbands to all people who tested negative for easier recognition of whether they can enter venues."
"Provide additional and rewards for testing: for example, through lotteries and partnerships with local businesses." [p. 13]
"Offer travel provision or subsidise the cost for people who live far away from a test site or are currently in receipt of financial support." [p. 13]
The population of Slovakia is approx. 5.45 million.
Approx. 57% of the population is under 44 years of age. (2017)
Deaths this year with Covid19: 868 (Dec 1, 2020).
Slovakia has ordered COVID19 vaccines via the EU. "I would like to assure the Slovak citizens that Slovakia ordered more than 17 million vaccines [] this way... The latest contract was signed with the pharmaceutical companies BioNTech & Pfizer."

Solution to it all; The Immunity Passport?
stepping stone to mandatory Vaccine?
Coronavirus UK: health passports 'possible in months' Tech firms are in talks with ministers about creating health passports to help Britons return safely to work using coronavirus testing and facial recognition. Facial biometrics could be used to help provide a digital certificate – sometimes known as an immunity passport – proving which workers have had Covid-19, as a possible way of easing the impact on the economy and businesses from ongoing physical distancing even after current lockdown measures are eased. |
Austrialian Press Paint refusers as anti vaxxers People who refuse to download the COVIDSafe virus tracing app are the new anti-vaxxers
Look out Australia, there’s a new breed of delusional idiot in town – the anti-appers, who like anti-vaxxers before them are putting us all at risk. Just as the anti-vaxxers compromise public health with their dangerous messaging, so the anti-appers are refusing to download the government’s COVIDSafe tracing app, preventing the sufficient uptake required to make it a success. [snip]
“Our privacy is at risk,” is another argument. No, it’s not says Rachael Falk, the chief executive of the Cyber Security Co-operative Research Centre. Together with Data61, her agency led an independent review of the app before its release with a team of 17 cyber experts from across the country. As she said, they collaborated “to test it, analyse it and poke holes in it”. Their conclusion was that the app was secure and operated as described by government. As she wrote in The Australian, “while the government does not always get all things digital right”, this is “no slippery slope we are heading down, nor are we under the thumb of an autocratic government”. Nov 2020 - Technofascism is here
Ticketmaster's plan to ensure fan safety using a smartphone app could point to the future of air travel, according to SimpliFlying, an aviation consulting company.
Why it matters: People want to know they won't contract the coronavirus traveling on an airplane or attending a big event like a concert.
What's happening: Three global alliances representing 58 airlines are pushing governments to allow widespread COVID-19 testing of passengers instead of existing quarantine restrictions that they argue are ineffective and have killed travel demand.
Oneworld, Star Alliance and SkyTeam cited recent tests of the CommonPass digital health passport system, a nonprofit initiative backed by the World Economic Forum and Swiss-based foundation The Commons Project.
United Airlines is among the carriers that piloted the technology.
Ticketmaster's plan to require a digital health pass for concertgoers might be a model for airlines.
How it works: After purchasing a ticket, fans would need to verify they've been vaccinated or tested negative for coronavirus 24 to 72 hours before the event (depending on local health regulations), Billboard writes.
The fan would instruct the lab to share their status with a third-party health information company like CLEAR Health Pass or IBM's Digital Health Pass.
The bottom line: No heath pass? No admittance. And perhaps, no flying.
The health pass company would verify the attendee's COVID-19 status to Ticketmaster, which would then issue the fan the credentials needed to access the event.
Ticketmaster would not have access to fans' medical records and would only receive encrypted verification of whether a fan is cleared to attend an event on a given date.
In a move right out of George Orwell’s 1984, New Zealand has announced it would put all COVID-19 patients into mandatory quarantine camps. The Prime Minister of New Zealand has said that your each and every activity will be monitored in these camps and those that refuse to be tested would be forced to stay in the camps for a longer duration. New Zealand’s Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield announced at a press conference that the use of quarantine facilities marks a major departure from how positive cases were managed by health officials when New Zealand was last at level 3, as cases earlier in the year were told to simply self-isolate in their homes. |
Dr Bloomfield says the mandatory quarantine will apply to both new cases and, if necessary, close family members who might be at risk. “[It] shows how serious we are about limiting any risk of ongoing transmission – even in self-isolation and including to others in the household,” he added. “A reminder, these facilities have been set up specifically and have excellent processes and resources in place to look after people with COVID-19, including health staff on site at all times. “It will help us avoid any further inadvertent spread into the community as part of our overall response.” |
Exclusive: Two Covid tests a week could win people a 'freedom pass' Christopher Hope - Sat, 21 November 2020, 6:48 pm EET·3-min read People are set to be given "freedom passes" to allow them to live as normal a life as possible as long as they have two negative coronavirus tests a week, under a plan to get the country back to normal next year. Under the scheme, which is still being developed by Whitehall officials, people could be given the passes as long as they can show they have been regularly tested for Covid-19. People who are found to be Covid-free would be given a card, a letter or document that can be stored on their phone to show they can move around. Regular tests would be needed to ensure that they qualify for the certificates. |
International travellers may need COVID-19 vaccines before they can board some airlines Posted: Nov 24, 2020 - International air travel could come booming back next year but with a new rule: travellers to certain countries must be vaccinated against the coronavirus before they can fly. Encouraging news about vaccine development has given airlines and nations hope they may soon be able to revive suspended flight routes and dust off lucrative tourism plans. But countries in Asia and the Pacific, in particular, are determined not to let their hard-won gains against the virus evaporate. In Australia, the boss of Qantas, the country's largest airline, said that once a virus vaccine becomes widely available, his carrier will likely require passengers use it before they can travel abroad or land in Australia. Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said he's been talking to his counterparts at other airlines around the world about the possibility of a "vaccination passport" for international travellers. "We are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say for international travellers, that we will ask people to have the vaccination before they get on the aircraft," Joyce told Australia's Network Nine television. He said they were looking at ways to electronically verify that people have the necessary vaccine for their intended destination, a difficult task. "But certainly for international visitors coming out, and people leaving the country, we think that's a necessity," he said. |

The UK government has approved the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 for emergency use, following the recommendation of the national medicines regulator.
The UK is the first country to approve the vaccine for widespread use — paving the way for some of the most “high risk” citizens, such as elderly care home residents and front-line healthcare workers, to get the jab before the end of the year.
The BBC reports that the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has said the vaccine is safe to be rolled out from next week. Though it’s not yet clear exactly who will get the first doses.
The request for emergency authorization was submitted by BioNTech and Pfizer to the MHRA last month — as well as to regulators in Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan and the U.S., none of which has yet given the go ahead.
In a statement, Albert Bourla, chairman and CEO of Pfizer, described the Emergency Use Authorization in the U.K. as “a historic moment in the fight against COVID-19”.
“This authorization is a goal we have been working toward since we first declared that science will win, and we applaud the MHRA for their ability to conduct a careful assessment and take timely action to help protect the people of the U.K.,” he said. “As we anticipate further authorizations and approvals, we are focused on moving with the same level of urgency to safely supply a high-quality vaccine around the world. With thousands of people becoming infected, every day matters in the collective race to end this devastating pandemic.”

People who have received a coronavirus vaccine in Wales will be given a card detailing the date and type of the vaccination.
The announcement came from health minister Vaughan Gething after Pfizer/BioNTech's Covid-19 vaccine was approved by the independent Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
In a written statement Mr Gething said: "Those receiving a COVID-19 vaccination will be given a credit card-sized NHS Wales immunisation card which will have the vaccine name, date of immunisation and batch number of each of the doses given handwritten on them.
"These will act as a reminder for a second dose and for the type of vaccine, and it will also give information about how to report side effects."

The Department of Defense released the first images of a COVID-19 vaccination record card and vaccination kits Wednesday.
Vaccination cards will be used as the “simplest” way to keep track of COVID-19 shots, said Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of the Immunization Action Coalition, which is supporting front-line workers who will administer COVID-19 vaccinations.

Senior company executives are among travellers set to be exempt from Covid-19 quarantine restrictions for international arrivals in England, meaning they will not have to self-isolate for up to a fortnight.
Recently signed elite sportspeople, performing arts professionals, TV production staff and journalists will also not have to abide by quarantine restrictions if arriving from a country outside of England’s travel corridor from 4am on Saturday.
Announcing the move on Twitter, the transport secretary, Grant Shapps, said “high-value business travellers” would be exempt from quarantine rules in an effort to boost the economy, “subject to specific criteria being met”.

Comparing it to flu, he said: "I think we may get to a point where coronavirus becomes a seasonal problem. Do I think there will come a big moment where we have a massive party and throw off masks and hand sanitiser and say that's it, it's behind us, like the end of the war? No I don't."
Habits learned during the pandemic which "clearly stopped the spread of other respiratory viruses" as well as coronavirus "may perhaps persist for many years and that may be a good thing if they do", he said.

The Cercle Pinay was founded in the early 1950s as an elite clandestine forum to promote the vision of a Catholic and conservative Europe and to oppose the threat of Communism. Shrouded in secrecy, the Cercle brought together statesmen such as Antoine Pinay, Konrad Adenauer, Franz-Josef Strauss, Giulio Andreotti, Otto von Habsburg, Henry Kissinger and David Rockefeller, as well as top figures from the American and European intelligence services.
Following the rise of student counter-culture in the 1960s, the Cercle focused on domestic subversion, using its network of propagandists and intelligence operatives to smear progressive politicians such as Willi Brandt, François Mitterrand, Harold Wilson and Jimmy Carter and to promote their favoured candidates: Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Giscard d’Estaing and Franz-Josef Strauss. Throughout the 1970s, the Cercle also worked to defend apartheid South Africa and Franco’s Spain. After the electoral victory of the Right in 1979-1980, the Cercle targeted peace campaigners and the new Soviet regime under Mikhail Gorbachev, playing a key part in the fall of the Iron Curtain and then ensuring the integration of Eastern Europe into the European Union.

Le Cercle is a secretive, privately-funded, transnational discussion group which regularly meets in different parts of the world. It is attended by a mixture of politicians, ambassadors, bankers, shady businessmen, oil experts, editors, publishers, military officers and intelligence agents, who may or may not have retired from their official functions. The participants come from western or western-oriented countries. Many historical members tend to be affiliated with aristocratic circles in London or obscure elements within the Vatican, and accusations of links to fascism are anything but uncommon in this milieu. The greatest enemy of the Cercle has been the Soviet Union and members have been crusading against communist subversion for many decades. During this process, Cercle members unfortunately have accused almost every nationalist and socialist government, every labour union, every terrorist, and every serious investigator of western intelligence of being in bed with the KGB.
Worse, more than a few of its core members can be linked to the CIA's Cold War "Strategy of Tension", in which underground fascist militias almost certainly were used to carry out "communist" terror campaigns to push countries moving too far to the left back towards the right. Some of these campaigns were extremely bloody and cost a lot of innocent lives. In addition, the Cercle has always been strongly focused on European integration, the efforts of its members going back to the early days of Franco-German rapprochement. The significant presence of Paneuropa-affiliated Opus Dei members and Knights of Malta, together with statements of the Vatican and Otto von Habsburg, clearly indicate that there has been an agenda in the background to some day bring about a new Holy Roman Empire, its borders stretching from the Atlantic to the Black Sea and from the Baltic Sea to North Africa. Interestingly, the latest generation of British Cercle members, whose predecessors were interested in joining the European Union, now do everything in their power to keep Britain out of the emerging European superstate, having lost faith that they can become a significant force within Europe or that the interests of mainland Europe - France in particular - will align with those of Great Britain.

Making Bilderberg Look Like Amateurs
Its purpose is to subvert the democratic principles and processes of individual countries and are by nature ideologically ‘hawkish’ – distributing propaganda, stoking fear of communist plots from Russia, vote rigging and hacking the accounts of politicians and prominent global figures. Promoting the ‘war on terror’ has been a major factor in their activities of recent years and in so doing broker weapons deals and setting up false flag operations the world over to suit its own agenda. It is reported that ‘Gladio‘ style attacks, much like the clandestine NATO “stay-behind” sabotage, guerrilla warfare and assassination operations in Europe have been conducted along with illegal business operations, financial fraud and arms dealing – all attributed to this group. Meet Le Cercle – |
"false intelligence was critical to the recreation of the Soviet ‘threat’. When official (CIA) intelligence estimates supported detente, private sector alternatives were created to attack it. We might also add: breathing life into the corpse of the ‘Red Menace’ recreated the conditions in which the careers of the anti-communists could resume and munitions contracts from the government flowed again onto the books of their corporate sponsors." |
[Excerpt]
But now, with the vaccine that could finally end our Covid nightmare about to be rolled out, Britain’s overseas enemies are mobilising.
On Wednesday, Putin’s international mouthpiece, Russia Today, greeted news of UK vaccine authorisation by reporting that ‘Britain became the first nation in the world to approve the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for widespread use on Wednesday.
The announcement was delivered in pompous style by the government’.
The article was headlined: ‘Britain’s Pfizer vaccine announcement gives anti-vaxxers unlikely boost: blamed on Russia without any evidence.’
There’s plenty of evidence. Putin began leveraging the anti-vaxxer movement as part of his destabilisation operation long before the appearance of Covid.
In 2018, a report by the American Johns Hopkins University revealed how Russia had identified vaccinations as a ‘wedge issue’.
A number of the accounts that had been established to interfere in the 2016 US election were found to also be engaging heavily in the anti-vaccination debate.
According to the report’s authors, ‘by playing both sides, they erode public trust in vaccination, exposing us all to the risk of infectious diseases’.
Which is exactly what the Kremlin is now trying to do in the midst of a global pandemic.
As soon as it emerged that the Oxford vaccine was making progress, GCHQ was tasked with defending it from a Russian misinformation campaign.
And last week the Army mobilised its shadowy 77th Brigade, which specialises in ‘Counter-adversarial Information Activity’, with the mission to specifically counter anti-Covid vaccine cyber activity from Russian and Chinese operatives.
But while our spooks and soldiers are deploying, there is uncertainty in Downing Street about the best way to confront Putin and his dark-net saboteurs.

Vaccination: Most Deceptive Tool of Imperialism
"Vaccination is the process of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific infectious organism. It is not the same as immunization (which has been mistakenly used interchangeably with vaccination), which is the process of conferring immunity, not necessarily through vaccination. Immunity is the capacity of the body to protect itself from the development of a disease due to exposure to an infectious organism. Imperialism is usually defined as expansion of economic activities, especially investment, sales, extraction of raw materials, and use of labor to produce commodities and services beyond national boundaries, as well as the social, political, and economic effects of this expansion. I would define Imperialism as: Intervention of Monopolistic Power Exploiting the Resources of Impoverished Areas Leading to Increased Social Misery (I-M-P-E-R-I-A-L-I-S-M).
If we look carefully into the history of vaccination, we will find that the development of vaccination coincided with the development of imperialism. Medicine and public health have played important roles in imperialism. With the emergence of the United States as an imperial power in the early twentieth century, interlinkages between imperialism, the business elite, public health, and health institutions were forged through several key mediating institutions. Philanthropic organizations sought to use public health initiatives to address several challenges faced by expanding capitalist enterprises: labor productivity, safety for investors and managers, and the costs of care."

When Capitalism Dies...
"This system has been in structural crisis since at least the early nineteen seventies and will be in structural crisis for another twenty to forty years I project, now 2050 is sort of the end of that whole period of time is a period of structural crisis and therefore of chaos, and chaos means enormous fluctuations that are uncontrollable, and a bifurcation into two alternative outcomes.
One alternative outcome - I just give them names - I call one the spirit of Davos and one the spirit of Porto Alegre. And the Spirit of Davos is to have a new system which is not capitalist but which shares the three basic faults of capitalism which is hierarchy, exploitation and polarisation.
You can do that in many ways; capitalism is only one way you can do that. And these people want to replace capitalism - it has to be replaced - because it’s no longer working for capitalists, and they are no longer able to really make significant profit and therefor significant capital accumulation.
So capitalists want the end of this system as much as WE do. But they want to replace it with a system which meets their demands. We wanna replace it with a system that’s relatively democratic and relatively egalitarian.
We’re not democratic now, there is no democratic state in the world system. There has never BEEN a democratic state in the world system. We’re certainly not an egalitarian system.
So this is our basic choice. I tried to outline the political complexities of struggling to have a tilt in one direction rather than in the other. Ok?
Now, by 2050 we’ll be in a different system, but it may be worse than the system we’re in now, and it may be incredibly better. And the odds are fifty/fifty.
That’s a pretty good odds actually. But there’s nothing I can say or do or you can say or do that will guarantee that we’ll win.
It’s just a matter of struggle."

The Imperial group lead an IdeasLab session titled ‘Developing a Vaccine Revolution’.
President Alice Gast, who introduced the vaccine experts, wrote for the World Economic Forum this week about how they are 'working to reverse the inverse care law as they advance vaccine technology'.
President Gast also chaired the Global University Leaders Forum (GULF) and spoke on a panel with President of Colombia Iván Duque Márquez and global CEOs, including Marc Benioff of Salesforce to update on the Centres for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Network.
President Gast was also invited to speak on a panel with President of Colombia Iván Duque Márquez
President Gast said: “We really do need global multi stakeholder collaboration to make a difference and that is what the centre for the 4ID brings.
"It’s incumbent on all of us to work together to pursue technology for the benefit of society.
"AI is changing fundamental basic research. It's enhancing our ability to design molecules in chemistry, making it possible to understand our microbiome, develop technologies for people to use in medicine, health, surgeries and tackle climate change.
"We need to make sure we are pursuing fundamental research that benefits society and at the same time educate our students and the population."
The President of Colombia announced that Medellín will host a centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, focusing on AI, Internet of Things, and Blockchain, in 2019.

Agile response to outbreaks and Disease X
Professor Robin Shattock is improving the production system of vaccines
Professor Robin Shattock, Head of Mucosal Infection and Immunity within the Department of Medicine, is working on the manufacturing of RNA vaccines to create quicker and more accessible responsiveness to outbreaks of known pathogens - such as flu, and unknown pathogens, called Disease X.
His team is improving the production system of vaccines to quickly provide tens of thousands of new vaccine doses within weeks of a new threat being identified. Currently, vaccines can take 10 years or more to develop.
We need to completely reimagine the way vaccines are being produced and approved Professor Robin Shattock Head of Mucosal Infection and Immunity
Synthetic RNA vaccines – which harness the body’s own cell machinery to make an antigen rather than injecting the antigen directly – take only weeks to produce and may offer the easiest route for global product consistency.
This approach is already being successfully used in cancer. This technology provides the ability to manufacture anywhere in the world and Professor Shattock is prototyping it in the Future Vaccine Manufacturing Research Hub.
Professor Shattock said: “In a pandemic situation, for every month delay, there is a potential for five million fatalities, that’s equivalent of losing a city the size of Rome or Singapore every month. We need to completely reimagine the way vaccines are being produced and approved.”
Imperial's Dr Robin Carhart-Harris, Head of Psychedelic Research at the Department of Medicine, was also at Davos to discuss his research into psychedelic medicine.

Alternative approach to prevent outbreaks
Professor Wendy Barclay believes that by preventing influenza virus crossing from wild birds into chickens, we would stop the next pandemic at source
Professor Wendy Barclay, Medical Research Chair in Virology at the Department of Medicine, is aiming to understand whether there is a potential to develop disease control through new measures of animal protection, exploring transgenic animals and how they could impact vaccine spread.
The source of all influenza is wild water birds, like ducks and geese. The avian virus can cross into farmed animals, chickens and pigs, which are a stepping stone for the virus to jump into humans.
People exposed to infected chickens can catch ‘bird flu’, which is often fatal.
Professor Barclay believes that by preventing influenza virus crossing from wild birds into chickens, we would stop the next pandemic at source.
Working with the Roslin Institute, Professor Barclay is using CRISPR technology - a way to precisely alter the genome of a species to introduce beneficial new traits - to develop chickens that are totally resistant to infection by influenza virus.
Professor Barclay said: “With our idea to generate farmed animals that cannot be infected by influenza viruses we aim to bring global health security by stopping influenza pandemics from emerging.”
Heat-stable vaccines for use in remote and low-income settings
Professor Jason Hallett, Professor of Sustainable Chemical technology at the Department of Chemical Engineering, is working on thermal stabilisation of vaccines allowing them to exist in room temperature without destroying their efficacy.
Replacing the standard vaccines with heat-stable versions would lower costs and enable them to be used in challenging conditions, such as in regions where the cold-chain that current vaccines require, cannot be maintained.
Up to 80% of the cost of vaccinating a person is due to cold storage at negative 50 degrees. This temperature has to be maintained when shipping vaccines across the world. The cold chain is needed to stop vaccines from being destroyed by heat and water. This gives rise to a shelf life at room temperature – a maximum amount of time vaccines can be safely stored.
Professor Hallett has designed salts that could act like water and protect the vaccine structure even when hot.
Professor Hallett said: “If we could eliminate the need for cold storage, then we could produce vaccines anywhere in the world. We could ship them and store them indefinitely. This really matters when you don’t live in a major city.”

Public needs to prep for vaccine side effects
Meredith Wadman - Science 27 Nov 2020:
This summer, computational biologist Luke Hutchison volunteered for a trial of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine. But after the second injection, his arm swelled up to the size of a “goose egg,” Hutchison says. He can't be sure he got the vaccine and not a placebo, but within a few hours, Hutchison, who was healthy and 43, was beset by bone and muscle aches and a 38.9°C fever. “I started shaking. I had cold and hot rushes,” he says. “I was sitting by the phone all night long thinking: ‘Should I call 911?’”
Hutchison's symptoms resolved after 12 hours. But, he says, “Nobody prepared me for the severity of this.”
He says the public should be better prepared than he was, because a subset of people may face intense, if transient, side effects, called reactogenicity, from Moderna's vaccine. Some health experts agree.
“Somebody needs to address the elephant: What about vaccine reactogenicity? While it's … not going to cause any long-term issues … how is that perception going to go with the public once they start receiving it?” asks Deborah Fuller, a vaccinologist at the University of Washington, Seattle, whose lab is developing second-generation RNA vaccines against COVID-19. She worries the side effects could feed vaccine hesitancy. “I feel like it's being glossed over.”
Those concerns arise after a week of good news about coronavirus vaccines: Both Moderna and Pfizer, with BioNTech, announced their messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines reached 95% efficacy in clinical trials of tens of thousands of people. The firms added that the trials showed no serious safety concerns.
Both vaccines consist of a snippet of genetic code directing production of the coronavirus' spike protein, delivered in a tiny fat bubble called a lipid nanoparticle. Some researchers suspect the immune system's response to that delivery vehicle is causing the short-term side effects.
Those transient reactions should not dissuade people from getting vaccinated in the face of a pandemic virus that kills at least one in 200 of those it infects, says Florian Krammer, a vaccinologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, who participated in Pfizer's trial. Sore arms, fevers, and fatigue are “unpleasant but not dangerous,” he says. I'm not concerned about [reactogenicity] at all.”

COVID-19 immunity 'could last three months after infection or vaccination'
The government's scientific advisers say the low numbers being reinfected suggests "natural immunity is sustained in most cases".
By David Mercer, news reporter - Friday 4 December 2020 20:58, UK
People who receive a COVID-19 vaccination may have immunity for 90 days, the government’s scientific advisers have said.
In a paper considered by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), which also looked into the much-discussed concept of immunity certificates, the experts say that the length of immunity from "natural infection or vaccination is currently not known".
However, they say that "waning immunity" is believed to partly cause other coronaviruses to reinfect after one to two years.
Meanwhile, seasonal coronaviruses frequently re-infect people 12 months later and sometimes as early as six months on, the scientists say.

"We conservatively estimate that a protective immune response after SARS-CoV-2 infection or vaccination may last for 90 days (moderate confidence)," they say.
"Based on this information, we conclude that: Within one month of natural infection, a high proportion of people will develop immunity which is protective against disease caused by reinfection (high confidence).

If the vaccine cannot offer total immunity why produce it?
Because they want it part of your everyday routine as a way to control your access to what they prescribe as normal. Its Big Pharmas golden goose. Its a Bio security states scale of control. Its the global neoliberal orders [WEF] ultimate impact investment scheme.

Vaccines cannot cure a disease - only prevent infection. The notion of Asymptomatic carriers of the virus allows the continuation of the disease, because Vaccination cannot sterilize the virus from the carrier. It can only prevent infection to a person who hasn't got it. |

The Vaccines are being used in conjunction with PCR Testing, Track & Trace programs...
The PCR tests are unreliable...The track & trace is invasive and downright black mirror.
The whole enterprise, and that's what it is, is a cycle intended to extend the PSYCHOLOGICAL OPERATION of 'Pandemic' for Political & Economic purposes.

"Do I think there will come a big moment where we have a massive party and throw off masks and hand sanitiser and say that's it, it's behind us, like the end of the war? No I don't." Habits learned during the pandemic which "clearly stopped the spread of other respiratory viruses" as well as coronavirus "may perhaps persist for many years and that may be a good thing if they do"

Saturday 19 Dec 2020 -
Londoners could risk being arrested for trying to escape the city as travel in and out of Tier 4 is outlawed from today.
The strict new travel rules come into place after midnight as the capital and South East England are plunged into the new harshest restrictions.
Boris Johnson said people should not enter or leave tier four areas and residents must not stay overnight away from home. Tier four rules also mirror the national lockdown in November with people being told to stay in their houses except if they have to make an essential journey, the PM said.
The legislation setting out what exact regulations tier four will involve has not yet been published and has not yet been agreed by parliament. But if the law bans people going in and out of the area, rule-breakers may be treated in the same way as others who have fallen foul of Covid regulations.
Police have been given powers to fine people caught breaking the rules and, if someone continues to ignore the instructions, officers can arrest them if they think it is proportionate and necessary.
Hundreds of people have already been arrested under the legislation since the pandemic began, mostly for attending protests or parties which broke laws that prohibit mass gatherings. Anyone thinking of leaving a tier four area tonight has been advised to ‘unpack their bags’ amid fears people could spread the mutant strain of the virus around the country.
