The Role of Artificial Intelligence Driven 5G Networks in COVID-19 Outbreak:
Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Outlook
There is no doubt that the world is currently experiencing a global pandemic that is reshaping our daily lives as well as the way business activities are being conducted.
With the emphasis on social distancing as an effective means of curbing the rapid spread of the infection, many individuals, institutions, and industries have had to rely on telecommunications as a means of ensuring service continuity in order to prevent complete shutdown of their operations.
This has put enormous pressure on both fixed and mobile networks. Though fifth generation mobile networks (5G) is at its infancy in terms of deployment, it possesses a broad category of services including enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive machine-type communications (mMTC), that can help in tackling pandemic-related challenges.
Therefore, in this paper, we identify the challenges facing existing networks due to the surge in traffic demand as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and emphasize the role of 5G empowered by artificial intelligence in tackling these problems.
In addition, we also provide a brief insight on the use of artificial intelligence driven 5G networks in predicting future pandemic outbreaks, and the development a pandemic-resilient society in case of future outbreaks.

Basically, A lockstep response to Covid 19 entraps people in their
domecile prison pods & demand surges for shiny things to keep themselves from going nuts in the state enforced lockdowns.
Those toys enable everything from online shopping, social media and gaming.

Would it be fair to suggest large amounts of time around wireless devices is simply not a healthy lifestyle?
Wireless internet usage has
surged which makes huge cash profits & new opportunites for corporation creepy cult tech behemoths;
Amazon Google, FB-Meta, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify etc etc
Those Cult-like "solarpunk" tech companys
This goes all the way through the supply chain - Telecoms industry, Internet Sevice Providers AT&T - Comcast & smart chip / phone manufacturers like AMD, Nvidia Samsung and Apple...further to the resources needed to manufacture technology.
Taiwan is the biggest manufacturer of smart chips.
"When it comes to the most advanced chips used in the latest iPhones, supercomputers and automotive AI, TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) is responsible for 92% of production while Samsung is responsible for the other 8%, according to research group Capital Economics."

What is interesting is the above report (top of page) via Frontiers, also describes how Artificial Intelligence is used to "drive 5g networks", enabling them to 'predict' future outbreaks.
Wireless Communication networks infrastructure is being upgraded to 5g, and so happens, co-inkydinkly to
emit frequencies that can cause the very symptoms of a now very familiar disease.
Predict? or, and i'm going to put my arch-conspiracy hat on here and suggest;
somehow directly manipulate the frequency of wireless communications radiation [WCR] across pre-designated community areas - as a type of disease broadcasting;
in order to influence the immune systems of huge swaithes of the population, to show certain symptoms?

Evidence for a connection between
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) public health policy has focused on the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus and its effects on human health while environmental factors have been largely ignored.
In considering the epidemiological triad (agent-host-environment) applicable to all disease, we investigated a possible environmental factor in the COVID-19 pandemic: ambient radiofrequency radiation from wireless communication systems including microwaves and millimeter waves.
SARS-CoV-2, the virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic, surfaced in Wuhan, China shortly after the implementation of city-wide (fifth generation [5G] of wireless communications radiation [WCR]), and rapidly spread globally, initially demonstrating a statistical correlation to international communities with recently established 5G networks.
In this study, we examined the peer-reviewed scientific literature on the detrimental bioeffects of WCR and identified several mechanisms by which WCR may have contributed to the COVID-19 pandemic as a toxic environmental cofactor.
By crossing boundaries between the disciplines of biophysics and pathophysiology, we present evidence that WCR may:

1) cause morphologic changes in erythrocytes including echinocyte and rouleaux formation that can contribute to hypercoagulation;
(2) impair microcirculation and reduce erythrocyte and hemoglobin levels exacerbating hypoxia;
(3) amplify immune system dysfunction, including immunosuppression, autoimmunity, and hyperinflammation;
(4) increase cellular oxidative stress and the production of free radicals resulting in vascular injury and organ damage;
(5) increase intracellular Ca2+ essential for viral entry, replication, and release, in addition to promoting pro-inflammatory pathways; and
(6) worsen heart arrhythmias and cardiac disorders.

Sars was originally labeled an Acute pneumonia back in 2019
This letter reveals that:
"WHO has done little to alleviate the confusion surrounding the terminology. SARS is an ambiguous term. The clinical features of many patients are neither severe nor respiratory in nature. SARS was initially labelled as atypical pneumonia with the outbreak in China, and this definition also caused much confusion with the so-called typical atypical pneumonia due to mycoplasma and chlamydia.
Also, the acronym SARS is closely similar to that of ARDS for acute respiratory distress syndrome,
but has a totally different meaning.
Indeed, SARS typically kills patients not via the virus but by complications of ARDS."

Remote-controlled bacteria could be just around the corner. Researchers have found a way to switch cell processes on and off with radio waves.
The goal is "microbial machines", Joseph Jacobson of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge told this week's Materials Research Society meeting in Boston.
Cells, he explained, could be equipped with a toolbox of 'software' - such as the ability to glow periodically
Remote-controlled enzymes could cut and paste these modules as if downloading a particular program into the cells. This is a long way off, but the components are taking shape.
Jacobson's team uses an electromagnetic field to switch on and off an enzyme that snips open the genetic messenger molecule RNA.
First they attach a tiny particle of gold to the enzyme.
Only millionths of a millimetre across, the gold nanoparticle acts as an antenna, harvesting energy from a radio-frequency electromagnetic field. This energy breaks up the enzyme, rendering it useless. When the field is switched off, the parts of the enzyme re-assemble of their own accord.
Earlier this year the same team manipulated DNA in a similar way.
They stuck a gold antenna to DNA strands that spontaneously curl up into hairpin structures where the two ends zip together. A radio-frequency pulse picked up by the gold antenna opened up the hairpin.
Showing that the approach works for proteins too greatly increases the range of things that might be done with it - proteins orchestrate nearly all the chemical processes in a cell.

"EPFL have been pioneering "markerless" tracking for animals. Their software
relies on deep-learning to "teach" computers to perform pose estimation without
the need for physical or virtual markers.
Their teams have been developing DeepLabCut, an open-source, deep-learning
"animal pose estimation package" that can perform markerless motion capture
of animals. In 2018 they released DeepLabCut, and the software has gained
significant traction in life sciences: over 350,00 downloads of the software
and nearly 1400 citations. Then, in 2020, the Mathis teams released DeepLabCut-Live!,
a real-time low-latency version of DeepLabCut that allows researchers to rapidly
give feedback to animals they are studying."

EU: AI Act: Plans to loosen controls on law enforcement use of artificial intelligence
The French Presidency is aiming to loosen restrictions on law enforcement use
of "artificial intelligence" technology, with a proposal circulated earlier
this week to modify certain provisions in the Commission's proposal. The proposed
changes would make it easier to deploy mass biometric surveillance technology
in public, and significantly reduce the transparency obligations placed upon
the authorities, amongst other things.
"The document significantly broadens the exception under which biometric recognition
might be used, removing the specific example of missing children and the reference
that the threat needs to be ‘imminent’. Ensuring the safety of physical infrastructure
was added in the exception.
Moreover, the use of biometric identification systems for the location of a criminal
suspect was extended from the original text that required the criminal offence to fall
under the scope of a European arrest warrant to any criminal offence that might lead
to a detention period of at least five years."
