In 1200 he returned to Pisa and used the knowledge he had gained on his travels to write Liber abaci in which he introduced the Latin-speaking world to the decimal number system. The first chapter of Part 1 begins:

One of the oldest known calendars was discovered in 1940 in caves in Lascaux, France, and are consists of drawings representing the various phases of the moon. They indicate the awareness of the 29 day cycle of the moon and are the earliest known examples of a lunar calendar. These drawings were painted at around 18,000 BC, making them of a similar age to the Ishango Bone.

Asclepius (Aesculapius) Wand
This asclepius wand, is the true symbol of the medical profession. It dates to antiquity, and was a symbol of the Greek God of healing, Asclepius.
It is not winged, and has only one serpent & has been a traditional symbol of the medical profession for millennia. In the Hermetic Tradition, it is a symbol of spiritual awakening, and has been likened to the Kundalini serpents of Hindu mysticism.
The caduceus
the legendary herald's wand of the Greek God Hermes (Roman Mercury). This symbol is nearly universal, found in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and India, where it is always a symbol of harmony and balance. The symbol of a serpent entwined staff also appears in the biblical book of Exodus, wherein Moses is instructed to erect a brass pole with a serpent; whoever looked upon it was healed.

The rod of Aaron - the staff carried by the Aaron who succeeded Moses as High Priest in ancient Israel, and which was transformed into a serpent. C.f. Exodus ch 7. Another rod, carried by Aaron, which budded. This is the rod which may or may not have been kept in the Ark of the Covenant along with the tablets containing the Ten Commandments and a jar of manna described in Numbers 17, c.f. Kabbalistic method of "Gematria" [from the same Greek root as geometry] - is based on the fact that there are no "numbers," as such, in the Hebrew language, as there are in English, for example. Instead, each and every letter of the Hebrew alphabet is not only a letter, but also a number. Consequently, the Hebrew language is alpha-numeric; that is, every Hebrew word is literally both a word and a number. According to the ancient Kabbalistic method of Gematria, therefore, different words with the same numerical value are said to have an underlying mystical connection with each other.

The Babylonian king Sargon II, in 8th century BC, is believed to have been the first to use gematria when building the wall of Khorsabad exactly 16,283 cubits long, because that was the numerical value of his name.

In Jewish mysticism this is a traditional system of associating numbers with Hebrew letters for the purpose of discovering hidden meanings in words. This is accomplished by systematically associating letters with numbers and then finding other words with similar numbers. These latter words are regarded as comments on the original words. Systems related to the Hebrew implementation of gematria are still used.

The Hebrews also used gematria for divination.

The ancient Greeks used gematria in dream interpretation. It also appears in the literature of the magi, and has been used in connection with the Greek alphabet.

The Gnostics applied gematria to names of deities such as Abraxas and Mithras, equating them because both of their names equaled 365, the number of days in a year.

Gematria carried over into early Christianity which helped make the dove a representation of Jesus; the Greek word for dove, peristera, equals 801 as do the Greek letters in alpha and omega, which represent the Beginning and the End.

It was the Kabbalists, however, who seriously studied gematria and developed it into an art form. The Kabbalists of the 13th century seriously believed that the Old Testament was written in a hidden code inspired by God. They used gematria as one of the chief means by which to decipher this code. An example of this is shown in their interpretation of Jeremiah 9:9, "From the fowl of the heavens until the beasts are fled and gone". This was interpreted as meaning, that no traveler passed through Judea for 52 years, because the Hebrew word for beast, behemah, has the numerical value of 52.

In Freemasonry, which its members often talk about as the Royal Art or simply the Craft, architecture is used for a wide variety of ritualistic purposes: differentiation, identification, honor, empowerment. For example, the officers are invariably enthroned, placed on a dias in a manner which only kings normally occupy. Darwin's evidence convinced scientists that natural selection can better explain life's complexity than intelligent design (ID).

The idea that an organism's complexity is evidence for the existence of a cosmic designer was advanced centuries before Charles Darwin was born. Its best-known exponent was English theologian William Paley, creator of the famous watchmaker analogy. If we find a pocket watch in a field, Paley wrote in 1802, we immediately infer that it was produced not by natural processes acting blindly but by a designing human intellect. Likewise, he reasoned, the natural world contains abundant evidence of a supernatural creator. The argument from design, as it is known, prevailed as an explanation of the natural world until the publication of the Origin of Species in 1859. The weight of the evidence that Darwin had patiently gathered swiftly convinced scientists that evolution by natural selection better explained life's complexity and diversity. "I cannot possibly believe," wrote Darwin in 1868, "that a false theory would explain so many classes of facts."
ID proponents accept that some species do change and that Earth is much more than 6,000 years old but reject that evolution accounts for the array of species.
In some circles, however, opposition to the concept of evolution has persisted to the present. The argument from design has recently been revived by a number of academics with scientific credentials, who maintain that their version of the idea (unlike Paley's) is soundly supported by both microbiology and mathematics. These antievolutionists differ from fundamentalist creationists in that they accept that some species do change (but not much) and that Earth is much more than 6,000 years old. Like their predecessors, however, they reject the idea that evolution accounts for the array of species we see today, and they seek to have their concept -- known as intelligent design -- included in the science curriculum of schools.
Most biologists have concluded that the proponents of intelligent design display either ignorance or deliberate misrepresentation of evolutionary science. Yet their proposals are getting a hearing in some political and educational circles and are currently the subject of a debate within the Ohio Board of Education. Although Natural History does not fully present and analyze the intelligent-design phenomenon in the pages that follow, we offer, for the reader's information, brief position statements by three leading proponents of the theory, along with three responses. The section concludes with an overview of the intelligent-design movement by a philosopher and cultural historian who has monitored its history for more than a decade.

The arguments of the ID advocates may seem like a rehash of the creationist arguments, but the defenders of ID claim that they do not reject evolution simply because it does not fit with their understanding of the Bible. However, they present natural selection as implying the universe could not have been designed or created, which is nonsense. To deny that God has the power to create living things using natural selection is to assert something unknowable. It is also inconsistent with the belief in an omnipotent Creator.
One of the early-birds defending ID was UC Berkeley law professor Philip E. Johnson, who seems to have completely misunderstood Darwin's theory of natural selection as implying (1) God doesn't exist, (2) natural selection could only have happened randomly and by chance, and (3) whatever happens randomly and by chance cannot be designed by God. None of these beliefs is essential to natural selection. There is no inconsistency in believing in God the Creator of the universe and in natural selection. Natural selection could have been designed by God. Or, natural selection could have occurred even if God did not exist. Thus, the first of several fallacies committed by ID defenders is the false dilemma. The choice is not either natural selection or design by God or some other superintelligent creatures. God could have designed the universe to produce life by random events following laws of nature. God could have created superintelligent aliens who are experimenting with natural selection. Superintelligent aliens could have evolved by natural selection and then introduced the process on our planet. There may be another scientific theory that explains living beings and their eco-systems better than natural selection. The possibilities may not be endless but they are certainly greater than the two considered by ID defenders.

Illuminati code buster Jack Fermanian is burning the mystical midnight oil these days, trying to make sense out of the secret cult's numbering system, adding the DaVinci Code provides another interesting clue.
Fermanian, who spends endless hours trying to make sense out of the Illuminati numbering code, said the DaVinci Code movie strangely opens today on the exact day of the new Illuminati 33 day cycle, acting as a reminding of the devilish intent behind the cult trying to take over the world.

The cycle and the number 33 are important mystical elements of the secret cult, according to Fermanian, as the members of the Illuminati, including the Bush crime family and other high level U.S. government officials, use the numbering code as a source of mystical power as well as an internal means of secret communication.
"Is it just another coincidence the movie opens on the 33 day cycle date or is it another in your face revelation that the real super secret puppet masters have most people's minds under their control," said Fermanian in an email sent to the Arctic Beacon, adding many sinister Illuminati events correspond to their devilish obsession with the secret numbering code.
"Now we have this, a movie about the pre-Illuminati secret societies set up in a mass media blitz to promote the satanic lies. Of them being of the bloodline of Jesus Christ and therefore having the divine right to rule the world. It now all makes sense how much they control Hollywood and the media as they can hype anything they want to brainwash people."
Over the years, Fermanian has kept close tabs on the secret numbers used, like one, three and nine, trying to alert Americans how strange and deadly events are coded and then communicated to members of the deadly Illuminati in a display of arrogance and devilish power.
For example, critics of the DaVinci Code claim it is a New World Order propaganda movie, geared at destroying the basis of Christianity by destroying the story of Jesus. And Fermanian claims the date of its opening provides more evidence the critics claims are true.
In the movie, documents are said to be uncovered showing Jesus never died on the cross, having fled from the Romans. Further, the story contends Jesus married, had children and descendants of his bloodline still exist today.
But both the book and the movie, however, are nothing new, as the masterminds of the Jesus propaganda story have been hard at work since at least 1956 when the damaging Jesus bloodline documents were said to be uncovered in a Paris archive library, found by the mysterious sect called the Priory di Sion and led by Pierre Plantard.
After the documents were uncovered, newspaper articles started surfacing in French and Italian papers, essentially laying the groundwork for the demise of the Catholic Church and Christianity by the New World Order.
However, the documents have never been verified as authentic while researchers claimed they were planted to destroy the Church by a satanic group controlling the Pope and the Vatican.
Further, the modern day strength and actual existence of the Priory di Sion has also been seriously questioned, as critics contend it has been used as a front organization for the real spiritual controllers trying to destroy Christianity.
Although the Priory can be traced to ancient times, the Arctic Beacon found out through this reporter that in the 1980's the Priory di Sion was little more than a fictional group with a small office in Paris and Plantard was nothing more than a "front man" used by satanic high level characters within the Vatican.
A high level Vatican official in the 1980's, when questioned about the veracity behind the theory behind the present-day DaVinci Code thesis, said the whole affair from the placing of the documents in Paris in 1956 was an elaborate scheme "to one day bring down the pillars of the Vatican amidst lies and deceit from satanic powers walking right in St. Peter's Square."
And it's interesting to note that The DaVinci Code and its phony success, which sold millions around the world, was nothing more than a clever remake of the 1980s propaganda book called Holy Blood, Holy Grail, also a best seller but one that had very little impact on America.
The critics claim the spiritual controllers behind the DaVinci Code scam felt they needed a Hollywood box office hit to drive a final propaganda stake in Christianity.
And so the plans were made to have the Holy Blood Holy Grail rewritten more cleverly with a Hollywood appeal, as the culmination of their propaganda campaign can be seen today on cinemas across the country, complete with two-time academy Award winner, Tom Hanks, in the lead role.
"It's the perfect propaganda union: Hollywood and the Illuminati New World Order killers working together," said one Hollywood insider who wanted to remain anonymous. "And I wonder if Tom Hanks even knows what he is really doing as he walks away with millions as his country is going down the tubes."
Besides the DaVinci Code falling the beginning of the 33 day cycle, Fermanian looks at some other strange dates and Illuminati events, including Waco, the Madrid bombings and 9/11.
"Think about this Friday the 19th is 1,711 days since 9/11 or (SEP-tember 11); Sep. means 7 in Latin or Roman," said Fermanian. "Also the Madrid Bombings were 911 days since 9/11. April 19th were also the dates for Waco and for the Oklahoma City bombings.
"Bush Senior announced the New World Order exactly 11 years before 9/11 on 9/11/1990. It must be remembered that one and nine are important Illuminati numbers. Then you have 7/7 London Bombings, the Start of the Iraq War on a 33 day cycle.
"The second London Bombings on a 33 day cycle, and the previous 33 day cycle (Sunday, April 16, 2006) Bush announced his Bird Flu and forced vaccination plans where they will have mobile labs to inject people and print Federal Reserve Notes overseas in case of a national emergency."

The Search for Meaning in '2001': Kubrick & Clarke join forces
One of Hollywood's most enigmatic personalities, Kubrick was a young filmmaker from the Bronx who had independently financed his first two features before drawing the attention of United Artists, where he completed two more films (The Killing and Paths of Glory) that scored critical, if not financial success. In 1960, he was selected to fill in for Anthony Mann to direct Kirk Douglas' production of Spartacus. Kubrick then directed a film version of Vladimir Nabokov's controversial novel, Lolita. He finally received both critical and commercial success in 1964 with a Cold War satire, entitled Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Only two weeks after Dr. Strangelove was released, Kubrick had already decided that his next project would be about outer space. A film publicist from Columbia Pictures who was a close friend of Arthur C. Clarke urged Kubrick to contact the British science fiction writer, who had lived in Ceylon since the mid-1950s.
Clarke had been interested in technology since his boyhood days, when he started tinkering with electronics and crystal radios. During World War II, Clarke worked on developing radio equipment for the British Air Force, and after the war, he became Chairman of the British Interplanetary Society. He began writing both science fiction and non-fiction "extrapolations" of the future, and his 1956 short story "The Star" won him a Hugo award from the World Science Fiction Society. His novels, such as Childhood's End and The City and the Stars, are primarily concerned with technology and the transformation of mankind into some more advanced form of life. Already scheduled to fly to New York to promote Man and Space for Time-Life, Clarke accepted Kubrick's invitation, and the two began to discuss various ideas for the proposed film.
Kubrick and Clarke planned to develop the 2001 story first as a novel, and then adapt a screenplay for the film. In practice, the novel and screenplay ended up being written almost simultaneously. Throughout 1964, Kubrick and Clarke continued brainstorming and writing, with Clarke doing almost all of the writing from his room at New York's Hotel Chelsea. By the end of the year they had come up with enough of a manuscript to sell the idea to MGM. - source

In 2001, researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, made headlines when they created a computer so small that a single drop of water would hold a trillion of the machines. The device used DNA and enzymes as their software and hardware and could perform a billion operations per second with 99.8% accuracy. Now, as reported by National Geographic, the same team, led by Professor Ehud Shapiro, has announced a new version of its biomolecular computer, 50 times faster than its predecessor, that not only reads DNA as data but actually uses it for fuel. The Guinness Book of World Records has recognized it as the world's "smallest biological computing device". "Once the input, software, and hardware molecules are mixed in a solution it operates to completion without intervention," said David Hawksett, the science judge at Guinness World Records. "If you want to present the output to the naked eye, human manipulation is needed." Two spoonfuls could hold up to 30 million billion of the computers, and they could perform 660 trillion operations per second--nearly 20 times the speed of the Earth Simulator in Yokohama, Japan, the world's most powerful supercomputer.
Shapiro and his colleagues described their new DNA computer in a report published online in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. DNA computing is in its infancy, but it could one day transform the future of computers, especially in pharmaceutical and biomedical applications. Some scientists predict a future where our bodies are patrolled by tiny DNA computers that monitor our well-being and release the right drugs to repair damaged or unhealthy tissue. "Autonomous bio-molecular computers may be able to work as 'doctors in a cell,' operating inside living cells and sensing anomalies in the host," said Shapiro. "Consulting their programmed medical knowledge, the computers could respond to anomalies by synthesizing and releasing drugs." - sci scoop

DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) - The molecule that encodes genetic information. DNA is a double-stranded molecule held together by weak bonds between base pairs of nucleotides. The four nucleotides in DNA contain the bases adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). In nature, base pairs form only between A and T and between G and C; thus the base sequence of each single strand can be deduced from that of its partner.
Genetic marker - A gene or other identifiable portion of DNA whose inheritance can be followed.

Binary as DNA?

...the Y chromosome is widely used in human population studies [because] it passes from father to son down paternal lineages, the only changes occurring are due to mutation, and the molecular record of the past is therefore relatively easy to interpret compared to the recombining X chromosome and autosomes.
The simplest and slowest kind of mutation alters a single base in DNA, for example from a 'C' to a 'T'. A rich resource of these binary DNA markers has now been discovered on the Y chromosome, and in combination these define signatures of different Y-chromosomal types called 'haplogroups'. Haplogroups can be arranged into a well-resolved genealogical tree, representing the branching order in which the different mutations occurred since all modern Y chromosomes had a common ancestor (sometimes known as 'Y-chromosomal Adam', although he was only one of many men in a population, rather than the solitary forefather of the Book of Genesis).
Armed with this tree of haplogroups, we can tour the world and ask how they are distributed among human populations. There are two striking observations. Silicon microprocessors have been the heart of the computing world for more than 40 years. In that time, manufacturers have crammed more and more electronic devices onto their microprocessors. In accordance with Moore's Law, the number of electronic devices put on a microprocessor has doubled every 18 months. Moore's Law is named after Intel founder Gordon Moore, who predicted in 1965 that microprocessors would double in complexity every two years. Many have predicted that Moore's Law will soon reach its end, because of the physical speed and miniaturization limitations of silicon microprocessors.
DNA computers have the potential to take computing to new levels, picking up where Moore's Law leaves off. There are several advantages to using DNA instead of silicon:

As long as there are cellular organisms, there will always be a supply of DNA. The large supply of DNA makes it a cheap resource. Unlike the toxic materials used to make traditional microprocessors, DNA biochips can be made cleanly. DNA computers are many times smaller than today's computers.
DNA's key advantage is that it will make computers smaller than any computer that has come before them, while at the same time holding more data. One pound of DNA has the capacity to store more information than all the electronic computers ever built; and the computing power of a teardrop-sized DNA computer, using the DNA logic gates, will be more powerful than the world's most powerful supercomputer.
More than 10 trillion DNA molecules can fit into an area no larger than 1 cubic centimeter (0.06 cubic inches). With this small amount of DNA, a computer would be able to hold 10 terabytes of data, and perform 10 trillion calculations at a time. By adding more DNA, more calculations could be performed.
Unlike conventional computers, DNA computers perform calculations parallel to other calculations. Conventional computers operate linearly, taking on tasks one at a time. It is parallel computing that allows DNA to solve complex mathematical problems in hours, whereas it might take electrical computers hundreds of years to complete them.
The first DNA computers are unlikely to feature word processing, e-mailing and solitaire programs. Instead, their powerful computing power will be used by national governments for cracking secret codes, or by airlines wanting to map more efficient routes. IBMs DNA Database
March 2002 UPI reported: The Mayo Clinic is joining forces with IBM Corp. to develop a multi-million-dollar DNA database of patients for genetic research and health care. The high-tech information system would contain archival data on tissue from blood, tumors and other body parts that would be immediately available to doctors and researchers to compare diagnoses and treatments with DNA profiles and other information.

1998 Human rights group Liberty made a statement on it's position on DNA databases: "The State is now creating a database about an individual's genetic identity. Governments intend to put the police computers in private hands. The implications of this transfer to the private sector have not been adequately addressed. The individual has no opportunity to correct wrong information contained on the database."

The Blue Gene system will have a peak processing speed of at least 22.8 trillion floating-point operations per second, or 22.8 teraflops. Five years ago, no supercomputer in the world was capable of more than one teraflop The US National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has officially commissioned the two new, next-generation Blue Gene/L supercomputers. The IBM machines will be housed at the organisation's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The machine is part of a pair of super systems. The other, dubbed Purple, is a machine capable of 100 teraflops and also takes its place among the most powerful computers on Earth. Between them, the Purple and BlueGene/L systems can generate half a petaflop, or 1,000,000,000,000,000 operations per second.
In October 2005 computer shopper reported that Blue gene will be used to run three-dimensional codes and simulate the nuclear explosions as an alternative to underground weapons testing which ceased 20 years ago.

There is no strict, agreed definition of what constitutes nanotechnology and nanoscience. The terms refer to a range of technologies and processes used to manipulate matter at an extremely small length scale, usually taken to be in the range of 0.1 and 100 nanometres.

Motorized Nano car
"We want to construct things from the bottom up, one molecule at a time, in much the same way that biological cells use enzymes to assemble proteins and other supermolecules," said lead researcher James M. Computer Simulation Shows Buckyballs Deform DNA
Nashville TN (SPX) Dec 07, 2005 - Soccer-ball-shaped "buckyballs" are the most famous players on the nanoscale field, presenting tantalizing prospects of revolutionizing medicine and the computer industry. Since their discovery in 1985, engineers and scientists have been exploring the properties of these molecules for a wide range of applications and innovations.
But could these microscopic spheres represent a potential environmental hazard?
A new study published in December 2005 in Biophysical Journal raises a red flag regarding the safety of buckyballs when dissolved in water. It reports the results of a detailed computer simulation that finds buckyballs bind to the spirals in DNA molecules in an aqueous environment, causing the DNA to deform, potentially interfering with its biological functions and possibly causing long-term negative side effects in people and other living organisms. - spacedaily
